Re: Rabbit parts going on 16V scirocco

The parts will fit, but transferring suspension parts between cars with
significantly different weight and or weight distribution will upset both
the ride and handling balance of the car. Since a 16V Scirocco is several
hundred pounds heavier than a Rabbit and most of the additional weight is on
the front, the Scirocco would sit too low in front, the rear would feel
stiff and bouncy and the car would tend to oversteer more.
I don't understand the big deal about springs. They're only $250.
Considering the labor involved in installing them and then getting or doing
an alignment the cost of brand new springs made for the specific car just
isn't that much.
