I have the same problem periodically in my other car.
 
It may be your cat.
 
It may be the particular formulation of gas at the station you frequent. Try switching brands for a few tanks and see if the smell subsides.
 
Ultimately what it turned out to be on my car was taking short trips and not heating up the exhaust system enough to burn out the water that condenses there as a byproduct of combustion. A good long road trip and it's back to normal for a few weeks until city driving catches up with it again.
