Re: [Re: Why do you own a Scirocco?]

Insanity. No other explanation. Needed more debt than I already had on the
Beetle (yeah, I drive one of those round things, a TDI to boot)
Seriously, took the pickup (88 F150) to a show and shine, there was a flyer
about a VW show, went to it and picked up a phone # , love at first drive,
enough said. Strange how life directs you where you need to be. Car wasn't
even advertised otherwise. After 2 (70's) Firebirds the darn Audi 5000 started
the German thing,it died, then 14 years so far with the Jetta - (on the road
as we speak) so I had faith that this car had potential, even at 14 years of
age. Plus hubby wanted a faster VW for racing and VR6 was too expensive . And
a mechanic friend offered to work on it, because he had one and never got to
modify his - I nearly fainted at that one. Or some say mid life crisis - who
cares! it's fun , small, and not hurting anyone.
