Re: 4K tranny - .75 or .80 5th??

         That's really strange... Many of the guys on the list have seen my 
version of your program. :)

         I wrote mine in 1993, but in QBasic (ah ha! I beat you, mine's 
worse!).  Mine's an application that runs along the same lines, only 
different. :)

         I use mine to determine the best shift points for maximum 
acceleration using dyno results.  The neat thing is that during that 
process, it also will compute a 0-60 [Car & Driver: Street Start) 
non-clutch drop acceleration figure and a top speed.

The coolest thing in the world is that I've found the top speed to be 
within about 5mph of reality on any car I've run it with, quite accurate 
when you consider the real world has a million different variables 
including wind speed & direction, tire drag, inflation pressures, different 
drag ratios by mods, temperature, air density, humidity, road surface, etc 
etc etc.

         I keep promising everyone that one day I'll make a new .exe 
version of it -- but time has not been on my side.
