As I'm sure you realized by now, the crankshaft in that motor has
very little to do with it's high output, unless it is a longer
stroke turbo diesel crank...but if it was, the motor probably
wouldn't spin up to 10,000 rpms very easily as the shorter the
stroke, the more a motor wants to rev.  About the only other
thing you can do to a motor to help it rev is balancing, and
maybe knife edging the crank so it can spin through the air/oil/froth
easier...but again, it has nothing to do with the fact that it might
have come from a diesel.
