so i finally got off my ass and am giving the '87 16v a cleaning of sorts.

just picked up a k&n air filter, pennzoil oil filter - they didn't have any 
left at the local kragen's (anyone know if they actually manufacture it or 
if it's private-labeled off some other manufacturer? - i just hope it's not 
fram!)

it's time to clean this system out, flush the guts, let it breathe.

there's tons of little shit to do with this car. the brake pads need new 
anti-rattle springs (i figure i can get some spring steel rods and bend 
them myself into shape), the oil temp gauge needs a light (simple), and for 
some reason my air control switch only turns on at "3" and not at "1", "2", 
or "4" positions. great. really, effin' great. what else? too numerous to list.

good thing is that the engine's still strong and the transmission is in 
great shape. though, my clutch probably needs some work (it's been shaking 
off 1st from a stop lately, though it's off and on behavior). i wonder if 
i've got some leaks somewhere?
