Removing undercoating?

Daun,
I removed a ton of ruberized undercoat from the underside of my '78
Scirocco. I used a 3M Stripping Disc. You can buy them at your local
hardware store. They attach to the end of a drill, or other spinning
tool with a chuck. This is one of the most useful abrasives I've come
across. It's sort of hard to explain what it looks like. Not
sandpaper, not a wire wheel, sort of some coarse fiberous stuff cemented
together with some kind of goo. Very rough. I tried sandblasting, but
with my small sandblaster, it went slow, and most of the sand just
bounced off the rubber. Hope this helps.

Hey all,

I need to remove some of that nasty factory undercoating
from the floorpan of my truck so I can patch a couple
holes. Does anyone have any suggestions for the best way
to remove this stuff? Chemicals? Heat? Combination?

TIA!
