Re: 16v problem - bucking upon take-off



Have you checked for cracks/rips/tears in any of boots on the intake
side?  This may not be the case, but I had a friend who had the same
exact problem with his GLi and it turned out to be a nice rip in the
underside of the boot.  When the car was accelerated the engine would
rock causing the rip to open up, gulp air, and the car would buck like a
bronco.
