Re: Those Germans are getting bad influences

The main reason would be that we're highly reglemented here in Germany.

Everything you change on a car ( even the steering wheel )
must be TÜV approved ( you have to go there and
have your car inspected ) .... if you get it street legal at all.

Things like a grillespoiler, different suspension, other wheels,
clear turnsignals, a Zender grille, are all things that
you will have to pay for approvement by TÜV engineers.

For example they fill your trunk with sand-bags and test drive the car
to check if there is no rubbing etc...

....And the rubber of the tire must be totally
covered by the upper arch of the fenders.

( just to name one of a million rules )

So it's pretty hard to build a good looking car that is
approved and street-legal here.

You lucky guys & gals over there can put wheels and rims and things
on a car just as you like - That makes it much easier & CHEAPER !

so please stop discussing about a bit rubber on a rim of a German Roc,
but try to make a better car -- HERE ! :-))

Greets
Dirk ;-)

one reason to run tires like that is to limit rub.

If you had a full sized tire on the wheel, it would rub allot in many cases.
