RE: abandoned car-how to title?

If you just want it for parts, why title it at all? I have a parts
car that I bought from a friend of mine, and I never even bothered to
transfer the title. I just gutted whatever I needed, and left the
rest of the car with my mechanic for a discount on work done. The
only time a title enters into it is if the vehicle is going to be
registered, inspected and insured. Otherwise, it is just a bunch of
parts you don't need to title.
The goal is to overcome the deliberate nature of the process.
