When I got my 85, it had a Bosal on it. Sounded like butt. It was REALLY
loud, really raspy, almost like it was brand H.  And on an 8v even. Sounds
like butt-ah now with the 16v and tt cheapy exh. 16v swap is a good way to
get a nice exhaust note over stock in an 85 :)

The bad news is that Bosal now makes the stock
mufflers for old VWs. Once the factory runs out
of original mufflers, they sell Bosal made ones.
Yes, they are not as robust as the original 16v
muffler..They suck, but are a good budget option
because of the lifetime warranty. My first Bosal
lased 2 years (incl. Canadian salty winters, though..
my poor 16v is the winter 'beater' :-( ).
