I had a problem with my 87 16V for a while. It would blow the gasket out of the oil
filter. I lost my oil within 1 min. This always happened just after startup. The latest
it happened was about 2 - 3 miles down the road, but most often within the first 1/2
mile. The fix was just VW or Mann oil filters.
