Re: tire recommendation anyone

As any tire person will tell you, "Tires are a world of compromise." To
get good performance, you give up long wear and some comfort in ride...to
a degree. Sounds to me like you're tired of shelling out the bucks for
6-8 months of tread. While running 16's, I didn't care so much about the
price, but the wider selection choices in the 15's made selling the 16's
that much easier.

IMO, the BFG Euro T/A 205-40/16's I ran lasted well, rode as well as 40s
could, weren't too wide to cause problems in the rain, and the increased
foot print grabbed well. I had to run 1/4" spacers to fit them under the
rear> //-----\\
and remove the front inner skirts.

The 215 will give you a *slightly* higher side wall (softer ride), but
the increased width may cause rubbing at lock. Take a very close look at
the tread block. Larger solid blocks add to handling, but may increase
road noise and aren't the best in rain. Blocks with fissures allow rain
to get outta the way, but the light weight of your car will counteract
that to some extent with 215's.

I think style and function go head-to-head when you get past a 50 series
tire up to a 235-245. I loved the look my car had with the 16" TSW
Hock's, but acceleration went up the day I went back to 15's...now the
BBS boys are on there, thanks for the center Brad.
