[audio] Amplifier had smoke comming out of it.

Can you think of a reason for the following:


Drive an hour to work with music loud enough to alter my heart rhythm: amp is
stone cold.


Work on timing belt for an hour in driveway - talk radio - very low volume: Amp
gets so hot smoke comes out and stops working.


Amplifier is Memphis 16-ST500D, speakers are 2 Blaupunkt ODw1000 10" dual voice
coil.

Talk radio: smokes
pounding bass: ice cold
