RE: my ass is 3" lower than my nose

Good one, Julie! My thoughts, exactly. Foxx, you haven't pissed off anyone with
mob connections or anything, have you? That might cause the symptoms you
describe...

It could be a combination of things. New front struts..did you put new strut
bearings in front? That would add a little, too. What kind of springs are they?
In my experience, I've noticed this problem mostly on 8v MkII's with stock
suspension. Maybe the stock 8v springs sag after time? It wouldn't be the first
car to do that. I've also heard of people who bought aftermarket springs that
weren't matched well. I think I've heard several such stories about Eibach (who
now does Neuspeed, IIRC).

If you aren't interested in spending the money for aftermarket stuff, maybe you
could get new rear shocks with new rear upper shock bushings. If that doesn't
work, maybe find a set of stock 16v springs all-'round? I imagine that setup
would be quite inexpensive and give you a slight boost in performance. OTOH, the
16v is a little heavier up front, so it might be counter-productive if VW spec'd
them with even more front-bias. Maybe worth a try anyway...anybody else have
better info?

i was told this was a common problem with sciroccos (all front-wheel
driver cars, actually), but this just seems a little more than i'm used
to. the car in question is an '85 8v. i would compare it to my '86 8v,
but it's been disassembled for a while. i did replace the front struts
recently. i did the jump-on-the-car-and-count-the-bounce test, but the
rears seem fine. i don't haul much of anything at any point in time.
it's usually empty save for a set of jumper cables. any ideas? thanx.
