What kind of MP3 player did you get?  Is there a web site for it?

Can't offer you much advice for not cutting speaker holes in a MKI. I have 
seen pics of floor panel mounted speakers.  
But somethings that have worked for me:  Tweets!  (Radio Shack sells these 
for about $20)  They fit real nice on the door panel, on the flat surface 
where the mirror is.  on a MKII you don't need to take off the door panel, 
just push the wires under the panel, and conect it to the 4x6 leads.
