Better yet, on a Fiero or similar parts bin mid 80's GM, Simply stick in a 
screwdriver on the LEFT side of the steering column, right around the stalk, 
andgently push down until you make contact with the ignition arm. Cars starts 
right up and disengages the steering column lock.  Also my friend had 2 Monte 
Carlos that the lock tumbler was so worn on you could pull the keys out while 
the car was running, I also did this on my old dodge work Van.  After a while 
on all these cars you could start them all without the keys.  Pretty Good 
engineering, huh?  About as good as putting the lock striker plate so close 
to the door metal without reinforcing (Damn A1 VW handles)  My car shows the 
damage from this little glitch.  (Damn Thieves)
