16v running trouble

hey list, my 16v just started to run really shitty today...i haven't had the chance to do any troubleshooting yet cuz i'm on campus now and my car and bently are at home...i figured i'd ask you guys and get some ideas before i went home and tried to figure out whats wrong...

so pretty much the car just seems to have none of the power that it did before...the car is also a little bit louder than it previously was, especially in 1st gear...it also takes a heck of a lot more gas to get going in 1st than it used too...an odd thing is that the car now idles smoother than it did before...it used to idle fairly low and rough at about 500-600k...now it idles smoothly at 800k...i did pop the hood after taking it to the grocery store this morning and noticed that the coolant hose connecting to the coolant expansion tank from the radiatior was hissing and bubbling out a little coolant right where it connects to the expansion tank...i've never noticed this before, could this have anything to do with it? 

any ideas would be helpful, and hopefully i can take a look at her tonight or tomorrow and get her running like she was before...
