Welcome to list Tom, you've arrived just in time for the buffet. :)

Anyway, the code for your transmission is located on a small flat
area at the bottom of the transmission bell housing near the motor.
It will consist of two or three characters which in your case if
it's still what came on the car, will probably be either 2Y or AGB.
To find out what gear ratios you have, and have a little fun with
some RPM / speedo calculations, click the 'gears' on the first page
of scirocco.org.

I just installed a custom rebuilt tranny in my car, very tasty mod. :)
