Re: Alternators- Anyone rebuilt them, themselves(especially bearings)

I had the altinator bearings replaced in my rocco's alternator.. When i 
finnaly decided to have them done, it was very bad, lots of clunking and you 
could see the belt wabbeling around alot.. The bearings are pressed in, 
thats why i had it done.. whell anyway, i drove the car for about 2 months, 
and i am starting to hear the clunking noise coming back and i can see the 
belt moving around a little.. So i guess it is probably worth it, i only 
payed $40 for mine to be done, but depending on how bad the cacing is, you 
may want to go with a new altinator, or at least a good used one from a 
fellow lister.. Just something to think about.. HTH
