Fuel Pump Fuse 87 16v

My fuel pump fuse keeps going out on the 87 scirocco.
They seem to last about one hour then they go. I
usually have lots of stuff running, fan, stereo,
lights rear defroster. You get this zap noise and the
car stops. Does this fuse have any other stuff running
through it? Any ideas where to look for connected
electrical problems? Have finally ordered a Bentley.
