Re: need advice dealing w/insurance co.



I had to go thru a similar ordeal after an old lady decided to take a nap 
while moving 55 mph.  Show the insurance company all upgrade receipts that 
you have, if any.  They won't reimburse full value of your mods of course, 
but every little bit helps.  Another thing to consider is the rental car.  I 
assume the insurance company is paying for it?  If you have another car or 
other means of getting around, it is possible to accept cash reimbursement 
instead of accepting a rental car.  It was $20 a day as an alternative to 
actually taking the rental.  They will give you a real low dollar amount on 
this.  Negotiate with them.  They told me I would only get $15 a day.  After 
some haggling, we settled at $20 a day.  Not much more, but again, every 
little bit helps.  Good luck!
