Yes, they just have some moly grease smeared on them.

Just before my rack crapped out completely, it started clunking & felt like
it was binding. Eventually there was a loud bang and the binding stopped,
but there was about 4" of play at the wheel. When I took the tie-rod boots
off, rusty water poured out of the rack. The column boot was damaged, so it
must have got in there.
