I'd second looking first for a vacuum leak.  There is also a check valve 
in line to the vacuum booster.

RE:  brake recommendation for track use.

Stock stuff is v. good IF you have fresh fluid.  Good "R" compund tires 
also let you go through corners faster and get rid of your old autoxing 
tires.
