RE: 2.0 Conversion Advice

1.) What can I do now as opposed to later - Alright so I have a low mileage
2.0. Is there anything I should do to it before I put the 1.8 head on
it...(other than replacing gaskets, belts, etc.) ???

Relplace rod and main bearings! Why spin another. Also replace piston rings
and make sure the block was been honed and cleaned. If there is piston
scoring make sure it is honed out. Check oil pump for wear.

2.) Sachs clutch ?

Nice clutch, nothing special, put one in with my new 2.0. Spring for a new
pressure plate.

3.) Should I switch to Motronics now or can I do that later on ?

up to you, i wouldnt bother switching to motronic.

4.) Can I do anything to the tranny to make it go faster in on the top end
(I wanna pin that 140 speedo damnit!)...

hmmm, i think youd have to tear down the whole tranny to do a different 5th
gear
