Swap meet score

While at a VW show last weekend in Wisconsin I was digging through some 
magazines a guy had and came across R&T December 1974 .
 Whats the big deal you ask, on the cover is a yellow scirocco and inside is 
a full road test with specs and a few pics . 
Things I find intersting are the curb weight of 1892 and a 0-60 time of 11.2 
sec and a scorching 1320 time of 18.1 @ 74 MPH. I also didnt know it holds 
11.9 gallons of fuel , always thought mine was a 10.5 gallon tank since I 
have yet to run her dry . 

The cars they compare it to consist mainly of a Mazda RX2 (rotary?), Mustang 
II Mach One V6 and the Opel Manta Rallye(where can I get one of those) . It 
faired well and fell somewhere in the middle from what the charts and text 
suggest.
