ND Show...good and bad

Well it started at about 3:30 AM on Friday for me. I met up with Shannon and
Andy (careful of this guy and food with animal designations;)). We met up at
the weigh station just south of Seattle.

When we finally got to Eugene (including an attempt by Andy and I to go to
the beach inadvertently) we met up with Dave Barwick and his buddy Steve.
Both great guys.

South we went through the desolate, barren nothingness of N. Cali. via I-5.

Arrival at Milpitas was welcomed by fellow listers who had preceded our
arrival. We disussed the plans for the next coming days and then commenced
to beer consumption. This act ended at about 2AM.

Sat. arrives with a smashing hangover and very oppressing heat. Andy and I
hadnt registered yet so we had to cruise to ND. Realizing that we
northerners had come extremely unprepared we shopped for necessary items
such as shorts (DOH!!!) and sandals.

More beer drinking ;)

Sunday. Showtime. Cars are washed, people are hungover and we cruise to the
store for necessities. Next stop ND.

I personally havent been to a VW show that has had ONLY WCVW's and I must
say it was very cool (figuratively of course). Bugs and busses get old (pun
intended). Lots of nice cars were there along with conflicting rap and
techno bass :(. This all became rather annoying. Time for the Fat Cats.
Thanks to TBerk.

As I have seen you all know who got what in terms of awards. Those of you
who didnt come missed out on a fantastic adventure! Next time we should be
twice as many!! Hint, Hint.

Shows over. To leave or not to leave; that was the question. Wobbling Pale
Face (AKA: Shannon Fenton) decides he will rough it with us (not that we
would've left without him ;).

1:30 AM done driving. Find a hotel. This one happens to be the most
expensive shit hole west of the Mississippi. Oh well fuck it.. we're tired.

9AM Monday. Drive more. Oh cool twisties! Sorry Shannon ;).

Next stop. Side of the freeway. Fucking bark spewing aircraft carrier
decides to share some under my timing belt! FUCK!!! timing belt is in the
middle of the freeway and broken in HALF! Ok well I've heard inspiring
stories so Dave drives me to the parts store to get another (thanks Dave!!).
Install it and cool! 2 cylinder. :( Once again Dave saves me and calls AAA
towing and VERY generously offers to have it towed to his house. It still
sits there :(

I continue to mope riding in Shannons quiet machine.

Book finished!

Thanks to Shannon, Andy and especially Dave for all their help and support!

I had a great time meeting Every one at the show and plan on doing it again
next time (timing belt covers ON).

For those of you who made it ALL the way through I'm sorry it took so long
but there was alot to say.

Keep on 'Roccin!!
