Re: caliper pistons
The easiest way to retract the piston is to use a large screwdriver between
the back of the pad & the piston, before you unbolt the piston housing, and
just slowly lever the piston back in. Slackening the brake fluid reservoir
cap makes this easier but isn't necessary. You can also use a spreader
tool, after you have unbolted the housing, with one side against the piston
and the other against part of the piston housing. I used to use the spreader
but now do it with the screwdriver every time - much quicker & easier.
