Yokohama Avid T4?

I'm thinking about plunking down some cash on a set of these from
TireRack.com.  What's the concensus on these?  The propaganda on the site
makes them sound pretty decent, especially for the money.  I can get them
for $169.88, shipping included, and their "local installer" turns out to be
a reputable European car shop 2 blocks from work.  Tack on ~$11/tire, and
I'm on the road for under $215.

I talked to a few tire shops today, and the best price I could find was $195
for a set of Kelly Springfield something-or-other tires, mounted and
balanced.  They are checking to see what Yokohamas they can even get, and
they can't get Dunlops.

Second place seems to deal exclusively in firestone.  I don't recall *ever*
hearing that name mentioned on the list, so I'll assume they're mediocre at
best.

Third place, Big O tires (who has a reputation for mediocrity), can sell me
their brand, "manufactured by Kelly Springfield to *our* specifications",
for $220 out the door.  WTF?  I'm supposed to think that this tire shop, who
should know how to mount and balance tires, knows enough about them to be
dictating "our specifications" to a tire manufacturer that's been around for
years??  I think not.  Incidentally, they can get me a limited selection of
Dunlops, but nothing of which I've heard mention here.

Opinions?  TIA!
