yeah baby!

Well after about 5 weeks in the shop, my car is basically DONE. I saw it
today, and probably could have taken it home if it had been detailed yet.
Right now it looks like any car that has been sitting around a body & paint
shop for over a month - i.e. pretty ugly! But it's completely back together
with the exception of ONE piece of side moulding, which I'm PRAYING will
finally show from Germany in time for ND. Going whole-hog and doing all the
expensive little details - such as ALL new rubber everywhere, new windshield
to replace the pitted original, new lights, corners, tails, and bumpers, etc,
has really paid off.. the better-than-new paint would have really showed up
the older trim if I hadn't gone all the way with the detail stuff. Best
of all <IMHO!> is that it's all done tastefully - the car will look like
a brand-new stock 16V, with the only exceptions being the euro lights
and bumpers, slightly lower stance of the Bilstein/H&R suspension, and
15" BBS mesh rims off a '91 Corrado. The grille is stock (plus Kamei
grille spoiler), the <new> side mouldings are there, etc.

ND here I come! Pics of the finished car should be up by Monday night!
