Re: Steering rack bushings, and tie rods!

I ended up taking the U joint off the steering column, and working it
out. Once I got the rack freed from the evil car I *STILL* can't get the
u joint off the pinion shaft... oh well just have to feed it back
through as I put it back in..... BTW I *NEED* new power steering rack
bushings, and everywhere says OEM rubber ones are dealer only, and poly
ones are only made for manual racks. Can anyone help? And now that the
rack is out of the car I tried wrenching the tie rods off..... no luck
they wont budge! Any tips on freeing these? (power rack BTW) Should I
just suck it up go to the stealership and give my money to the man for a
set of OEM steering rack bushings? Thanks,

BTW, anyone know how to adjust a power steering rack without using VW
Tool 546 since most of us don't have a shop at our disposal :(? (harsh
comment directed at jonas)
