On the A2 cars VW came out with a retrofit splash shield. It keeps the
puddles from slipping the V belt. I had a 4 speed scirocco I abused a
lot- one time it was over heating so i would drive through the puddles
on purpose. Funny to see the temp gauge drop so fast. Scary too.
