My $.02:

On my car, which is a built 2L, I noticed some very nice midrange and
top-end gains from replacing my exhaust.  I went from stock tubing + stock
muffler, minus resonator, to a custom 2.125/2.25" system with a generic
(but not Dynomax) straight-thru stainless muffler.  I'd say the gain was
around 5-7hp off the top of my head, but I felt more power as early as 4k.
Didn't lose anything down low, either!  Very cool.  I'll be back on the
dyno again before waterfest, but it'll be with a different set of cams so I
won't be able to do an A-B comparison :(
