You have the right idea anyway.  But make sure you replaced the correct
one.  The pressure ranges are written on the senders. Yes, below the
caked on grime and rust, they're stamped.  Replace the one that matches
one of the ranges on your dual sender.  Put the stock one you didn't
replace in the back (engine side) location, remember to attach the
wire that belongs to THAT sender back.  Choose the correct pole of
the dual sender for the other wire and put the dual sender at the front
location.  And yes, if you don't hook it up, it will cause blinks
and/or buzzes.  It works via resistance to ground, and an open circuit
is 100% resistance. :)
