The throwout bearing (8v OR 16v) is what the rod rides on that
pushes the clutch away from the pressure plate. This rod runs
right down the middle. When you ride the clutch pedal it keeps
this bearing spinning under pressure. (Bad.) 

It's easy to swap just by getting at it from the end cap of the
transaxle.

Anything I'm missing folks?
