[8v] tie rod end swap q

is the tie rod end the same on the 81s as an 86 8v?
anyone know? i had to molest the hell out of my passenger
side to free it from the hub. it looks like it unscrews.
my donor car the 86 8v that my hubs came from have a good
tie rod end still. can i swap the 2 or am i stuck buying
a new tie rod end?

i just recollect having to buy ones for my Corrado and ending
up having to buy the complete tie rod assembly for like 50$
a side. bleah
