rear axle

will I need to drop rear axle to remove gas tank from a 81? want to clean it
up inside before installing a new fuel pump
Awhile back I was looking for fenders and a couple of people replyed that if
I found some  to let them know, I found 3 passenger fenders,I got one so
theres 2 left $40 a pop
