Ryan, yeah  it is pretty straight forward to remove the valve cover gasket. 
Remove the intake black boot off the throttle body. Pull off the couple 
vacuum lines into the throttle body and remove the bracket that holds the 
upper intake manifold to the back of the engine.  Then remove the bolts that 
hold the upper intake manifold to the lower intake manifold, and also pull 
the spark plug wires.  Don't mess with the accelerator cable and just rotate 
the intake manifold out of the way.  Then you have easy access to the valve 
cover. GooD Luck
