Non-roc: Rabbit Elect Q's

I am going to assume that the wiring of a GTI is similar to that of a MkII.
In that case the PO has hard wired the switchable 12v. I have constant fuel
gauge showing, plus the Battery light & oil light.
I have also found the air bypass adjuster under the passenger seat. It
almost got sucked up by the vacumn cleaner. The Je*k has put a 12mm bolt in
the throttle body.
Now for the q's
1) There is also a piece of rubber hose attached to the throttle body that
goes no where, it is to the right of the air adjuster..
2) On the throttle body is a microswitch. The wires are broken. When the 2nd
butterfly valve opens it throws this switch. What does it do?
3) I can't get the electric oil pressure meter to read. What should I check
for?
