RE: Help removing autotech rear sway bar

You're right about how to pull the sway bar out of the rear mounts. I used
some white lithium grease to make things slide easier. I'm not sure if
that's the best grease to use...just what I used, and I think (I hope,
anyway) it will not eat at the plastic bushing.

The nut on the back (or front, rather) of the beam is tricky, but not
impossible. When I put my sway bar in, I had the car on jack stands, and
then used the jack to push the axle beam up, compressing the spring, as high
as it would go until the force of the suspension just barely started lifting
the body off the jack stands (do NOT let it come off the jack stands, for
obvious safety reasons). This seemed to be just enough to slip a wrench
between the gas tank and the beam, and use a couple fingertips to slide it
onto the nut. I let the wrench hold itself up against the beam, so I only
had to hold it onto the nut with my fingertips and crank from the other side
to get it to work. Am I making sense? It went pretty smoothly, actually.
Liquid wrench is, of course, recommended.

Good luck!
