Timothy,
I replaced the fuel pump on my 81 Scirocco a couple of years ago
and it was no big deal. I would recommend running the tank almost
empty first though. I found the cheapest price for a new one from the
dealer, but didn't know about Mike Potter so check with him, he
might have them cheaper. If you are on the east coast you might try
Adirondak (sp?) also. I used an old cat litter pan to catch the fuel
that was remaining.
