Re: New clutch problems.



I have heard people say 500 miles, but it really depends on what type of
driving you're doing.  What really matters is how many times you start out
from a dead stop.

If you were careful about keeping the clutch disc and flywheel and pressure
plate free of grease you probably don't have a clutch chattering problem.

When it comes to tires hopping, I don't have much experience with this
problem and front wheel drive.  I would say motor mounts are probably not
the problem, I would look at stuff like control arm bushings, maybe the
lower ball joint.  It could also simply be the wet pavement and the type of
tires you're running.  I've only had to deal with this problem on rwd
vehicles with leaf springs, in those cases simple fixes like replacing the
rubber spring bushings, shocks, tightening spring clamps, etc fixed the
problem.  I've never had to resort to installing "ladder bars" or "traction
bars"..  of course I'm wandering off-topic  :)
