You have your own answer- Replace the manifold and downpipe. But, not
for replacements' sake, rather take the opportunity to swap the single
downpipe that the later cars came with (donut) and swap in an O2
equipped manifold and dual downpipe. Your car will love you for it,
since it lets the car breath easier.
