how do I remove chrome???

I want to buy these rims but they are chrome plated.  I want to remove
it!

Are there any chemicals that I can use to do this that won't pit the
rims??

I have a friend w/ a sandblaster but again, I am afraid of pitting
the rims.  Anyone know what type of sand (size of grain) I could use?

Anybody have any experience w/ this??
