16V Inner TieRods

Anybody out there done inner tierods with the engine/tranny still in place?  
If so, what specific tools do you need & how much of a pain was it. I'm 
ordering them for both sides just to get them done & over with. I don't 
particularly want to remove the entire PS rack if I don't have to.  Oh, and I 
have to do it on my car as well as my friend Bu's.  D'oh!  TIA
