oil buzzer going on at certain rpm

 Hi all, this question is for a friend who just recently bought an 88
scirocco 16v, and he's fixing it up.  He's only 16, but he and his dad are
really rocketing through all the problems.  Now, he has a problem with the
oil buzzer going of he says at about 2,500 RPM.  But, he says it turns off
when he gets up higher in the revs.  Lots of oil in the engine.

  anyone have any ideas as to what it may be?
