thanks for the replies all...i went out to check my intake boot like some of you suggested, and i noticed my hall sender kinda hanging off the distributor...i ziptied that down and the problem was solved

also thanks to all who helped me finally get my car back on the road after 3 months of sitting...i had a blown head gasket, then right after that the shifter linkage crapped on me, then the first day i get it running the transmission mount decides to break in half, then my battery died, and i just fixed my hall sender problem...ugh

it is so good to have the scirocco back againg though :)
