Damn, that's pretty scary. I've never had anything like that happen on a VW.

I had it welded, but from then on, I didn't really trust it.  Additionally,
it had 125k

miles on it, and it would only get harder to sell when I went to go buy my
new car (WRX?).  So I sold it.

I picked up the Scirocco 16v from a friend for $500 with a broken clutch
cable.



And I bet the cops haven't even given you a dirty look when driving that,
have they? =)
