Should I buy this one ($800)

Hey guys I am looking into buying my friends '87 Rocco 16v...
He said he'd sell it to me for $800
It has no more than 100k miles, but I dont know the exact milage...
He says all it needs is a downpipe. The body is in pretty good shape,
interior isnt mint but not too rough...
Do you think it's worth buying? It runs drives etc.. leaks a very small
amount of oil, and needs downpipe
Let me know what you guys think, you'd know more than me... also, how much
would a new downpipe be, and what would you suggest for a downpipe?
