RE: Waterfest Show Results

Oh, Scott, I completely agree with your judging function over form, etc...
although I do admit you were rather outspoken about your taste last year (a
couple of us overheard quite negative comments about our cars, which are
sometimes tough to hear). [No worries, it wasn't me. :) ]

Anyways, the fact of the matter was that the judges were completely
inconsistent in their judging. Not naming any names or anything, but there
are many, many examples on the judging sheet that make no sense: i.e. one
person getting a 9 for exterior condition, and another getting a 12,
despite that the former was in nowhere the condition of the latter. Just
strange things. I don't care who winds up with what amount of points, but
the assigning of points needs to be consistent.

I, for one, wasn't expecting a trophy and didn't deserve one this
year. However, if you look at the rankings on the cars from the judging
sheet, it's absurd. A blind, deaf, and dumb judge would have been more
accurate in ranking the cars -- no matter what scale you ranked them on --
cleanliness, thoughtfulness of modifications, overall theme, overall
condition, or taste. Obviously, we were all right when, at the show, we
immediately deduced that they were clueless assholes.

I can't *wait* to write to Rapid. I feel genuinely badly for anyone who
expected to be judged fairly.
